ADXL345 Tripple Axis Accelerometer Board

The ADXL345 Triple Axis Accelerometer Board is a small, thin, low power 3 axis accelerometer that offers high resolution 13 bit measurements up to ±16 g. The digital output is provided as 16 bit two’s complement data accessible through either SPI (3 or 4 wire) or I2C interfaces.

This accelerometer is well suited for mobile device applications. It measures static acceleration for tilt sensing, as well as dynamic acceleration caused by motion or shock. Its high resolution of 4 mg per LSB allows detection of inclination changes of less than one degree.

The ADXL345 includes several advanced sensing functions such as activity and inactivity detection, tap and double tap sensing, and free fall detection. These functions can be assigned to either of the two interrupt pins. A built in 32 level FIFO buffer reduces processor load by storing data internally.

Low power operating modes allow motion based power management using threshold detection and active acceleration monitoring with very low power consumption.
