PT4115 IC

The PT4115 is designed to drive single or multiple series-connected LEDs efficiently from a voltage source higher than the total LED chain voltage. It integrates a power switch and a high-side output current sensing circuit, which uses an external resistor to set the nominal average output current.

One of its standout features is the DIM pin, which allows for sophisticated light intensity control. By applying either a DC voltage or a PWM signal, users can achieve a dimming ratio of up to 5000:1. The device also includes a low-current standby state; when the DIM pin voltage falls below 0.3V, the output shuts off to conserve power. Its hysteretic control architecture ensures excellent input rejection and fast response during load transients without the need for external compensation.
