Unlike standard horizontal USB-C ports, the U23401-01 stands perpendicular to the PCB. This “Vertical Mount” style is often used in docking stations, smart speakers, and handheld industrial tools where the cable enters from the top or bottom of the device rather than the side.

The connector features a single-row SMT (Surface Mount Technology) pin layout, which simplifies the soldering process on the production line while maintaining a strong mechanical bond to the board via integrated shell legs. It is constructed with LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) plastic, allowing it to withstand the high temperatures of reflow soldering (up to 260¡C). With a 5A current rating, it is optimized for “Charging Only” or “Power Delivery” (PD) functions rather than high-speed data transfer.
