The M7802-02 utilizes a Hinge (Flip) mechanism rather than a push-push slot. To insert a card, the metal lid is unlatched, flipped open, the Nano-SIM is placed inside, and the lid is then closed and slid to lock. This mechanical design ensures that the SIM card remains perfectly aligned and won’t be dislodged by mechanical shocks or heavy vibration, a common issue in automotive or handheld industrial equipment.

The connector is built using high-temperature LCP thermoplastic to withstand lead-free reflow soldering processes. It includes a switch pin (Detection Pin) to allow the system firmware to detect the presence or absence of a SIM card in real-time. With a footprint of approximately 12.4 x 9.8 mm, it is one of the most space-efficient ways to add cellular connectivity to a PCB.
