MUP-U5022-01

The MUP-U5022-01 is often chosen by engineers who need to minimize the thickness of a device. By cutting a small notch in the PCB, the body of the connector “sinks” into the board, effectively splitting its height between the top and bottom sides of the PCB. This makes it ideal for slim power banks, thin wearables, and compact IoT sensors.

Structurally, it uses 5 SMT pins for the electrical signals (VBUS, D-, D+, ID, and GND) and 4 Through-hole (DIP) legs on the metal shell. These legs are critical for mechanical stability, as they absorb the stress of plugging and unplugging the cable, preventing the delicate signal pads from lifting off the board. The shell is made of stainless steel with nickel plating, offering excellent corrosion resistance and EMI shielding.
