Turbidity Sensor with Module

This is a Turbidity Sensor with Module, an electronic monitoring unit designed to work with microcontroller platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PIC, ARM, and AVR.

It efficiently detects and evaluates water quality by measuring turbidity. The sensor provides digital or analog output signals through the corresponding pins on the included electronic module.

The sensor emits infrared light, which detects suspended particles in water by measuring light transmittance and dispersion. These values vary with the Total Suspended Solids (TSS), increasing turbidity as levels rise.

Theory of Operation:
The sensor works on the principle that the amount of light transmitted through water depends on the amount of soil or particles present. Higher soil content reduces transmitted light. The turbidity sensor measures this transmitted light to determine wash-water turbidity.

These measurements are sent to a controller for decision making, such as adjusting wash duration in dishwashers based on comparisons between clean water and wash-water turbidity. This process conserves energy by optimizing wash cycles based on soil levels, resulting in power savings.
