STC4054 IC

The STC4054 eliminates the need for an external sense resistor or blocking diode, simplifying board design significantly. It manages the entire charge cycle, including a pre-charge (trickle charge) phase for deeply discharged batteries, a constant-current phase (programmable via a single resistor), and a constant-voltage phase fixed at 4.2V. An internal thermal regulation loop protects the device by reducing charge current during high-power or high-ambient temperature conditions. The cycle terminates automatically when the charging current drops to 1/10th of the programmed value (C/10).
