The M6027-01 is engineered for ease of use in consumer and industrial devices. It features a Push-Push mechanism, meaning the user pushes the card once to lock it into place and pushes it again to eject it. This is the preferred mechanism for external-facing memory slots in devices like cameras, GPS units, and handheld data loggers.

The connector stands at a low profile of 1.85mm, making it suitable for slim PCB designs. It includes a built-in Card Detection Switch (normally open), which allows the system’s microcontroller to sense when a card has been inserted. The robust metal shell provides electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and ensures mechanical durability, rated for at least 5,000 insertion cycles. Its SMT mounting style with auxiliary solder tabs ensures a strong physical bond to the circuit board.
