The Raspberry Pi Pico Compatible Board is built around the RP2040, the first microcontroller chip designed by Raspberry Pi. This specific variant addresses one of the most common user requests by upgrading the power and data interface to USB-C, which is more robust and reversible compared to the original Micro-USB.

Despite the port change, the board maintains the exact same 40-pin DIP/castellated footprint, ensuring it fits into existing Pico breadboard layouts and carrier boards. It features a dual-core Arm Cortex-M0+ processor capable of running up to 133MHz. The board is “plug-and-play” for programming; by holding the BOOTSEL button while connecting it to a computer, it appears as a USB mass storage device, allowing you to simply drag and drop your firmware files (.uf2). It is highly versatile, supporting everything from simple LED blinking to complex IoT and machine learning tasks using TensorFlow Lite.
